The Lich King of Thay

Setting: Forgotten Realms / Thay Unlock: Complete all 10 standard campaigns AND all 10 named campaigns Difficulty: 1.50× — the hardest campaign in the game

Zulkir Jax's plans worked. Szass Tam is dead. Thay has a new master — twice as powerful, with ten times the army. The gates of Eltabbar are closed to outsiders. The Red Wizards serve a new Zulkir. The undead warrens beneath the city hold legions that have not yet been given a direction to march. The party has decided this is their problem to solve. Zulkir Jax is expecting them.

This is the final campaign. There is no campaign harder than this one.

Unlock Requirement

You must complete all 10 standard Gauntlet campaigns and all 10 named campaigns before The Lich King of Thay becomes available. This is the only campaign with a dual unlock requirement. Zulkir Jax is not a beginning. He is an ending.

Stages

Five stages through Eltabbar stand between the party and the throne room. Each one is harder than anything that came before it.

The campaign follows the standard named campaign structure — rest shrines between stages, Brother Yvannis appearing at stage 3, and a party vote at the end to determine the outcome.

The Boss

Zulkir Jax, Lich King of Thay, waits at stage 5. He is not a standard boss fight.

Come prepared.

Endings

After the boss is defeated, surviving participants vote on how the campaign ends. There are four possible outcomes. Each carries a persistent consequence that follows players into future campaigns.

Stage Milestone Titles

Reaching each stage earns a permanent title regardless of the final outcome.

Clear Title

All survivors of a full clear earn a unique title for having stood in the throne room of the Lich King.

Artifact

A unique artifact drops to a random survivor on full clear. Its flavor text tells you what it means that you have it.

TIP

ℹ️ Heal at every shrine. Come into stage 5 at full HP. You will need it.

WARNING

⛔ This campaign has the highest difficulty modifier in the game. Enemy HP and damage scale at 1.50×. Plan accordingly.
